Bedrooms are deeply personal spaces and should be decorated accordingly, believes Farrow & Ball’s colour curator Joa Studholme. ‘If you are a morning person who likes to jump out of bed and attack the day, then you are probably more suited to having a clean, light, uplifting colour on the walls,’ she says. ‘Evening people will more likely embrace the dark, womb-like shades. To bring an extra element and lift to a bedroom, use an accent colour on the wall behind the bed – this will ground the room and feel nurturing.
