While some may dread the freezing temperatures, winter for Sylvie Schweig is a time to celebrate, delivering gifts no other season can. As the days shorten, her garden becomes a sparkling sculpture park of sinuous hedges, burnished grasses and architectural trees crystallised by ice. Stems stripped of foliage add to the drama, while crisp seedheads offer reminders of the summer just gone and flowers yet to come.
