ZEBRA FINCHES
IT WAS during the 1960s that the black-faced zebra finch was first seen in the aviaries of Australian breeders before, about a decade later, it became established in Europe. This mutation is relatively subtle in appearance: in fact, black-faced birds display relatively minor additions to and variations on the familiar markings sported by the normal forms.
