I probably have the largest amount of Midwinter pottery in the country: about 10,000 pieces. I grew up with a love of the 1950s and ’60s and have always been stuck in a nostalgic time warp, but my love affair withset in Jessie Tait’s Zambesi. I was a Mod as a kid, and I thought this was a great Mod pattern. Previously, I hadn’t thought of keeping homewares to look at, but some patterns are now so expensive you wouldn’t dare use them - the Jessie Tait and Terence Conran designs of the ’50s are timeless and stunning.
