WE CELEBRATED TAYLOR HAWKINS

On March 25, 2022, a light went out in the world of rock. Taylor Hawkins, the renowned and globally adored drummer of the Foo Fighters, passed away at the age of 50. He had been found unresponsive in his hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia, during the band’s South American tour.

When the news of his death broke, there was a monumental outpouring of well-wishes, love and heartache. Taylor meant many things to many different people, and the effect of his untimely passing was felt not just by his thousands of fans, but by a vast number of legendary musicians who knew him.

Two months later, it was announced that those very musicians – the likes of Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, Wolfgang Van Halen, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Rush, The Darkness’s Justin Hawkins, Joan Jett and many more – would gather to perform in celebration of Taylor’s life and legacy, on September 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and on September 27 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.
