RIDING ADVICE: Georgie Goss says…
Feel brave again
Q I've lost confidence across country as my horse has a tendency to put in a dirty stop or swerve. Any ideas for exercises I can do in the school to boost our confidence over winter and prepare for next season?
June Mansfield, Cornwall
Georgie says: I recommend using guide rails whenever you’re jumping in the school to encourage your horse to stay straight and jump the middle of each fence — as well as keeping the fences small, especially if you have both lost confidence.
It’s vital for your horse to have variety over the winter months, so mix up small, achievable showjumps and mock cross-country jumps in your school along with pole work.
