ttarakhand is the latest BJP-ruled state to seek the help of has zeroed in on McKinsey to prepare a blueprint for doubling its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in the next five years. The party’s paterfamilias, the RSS, may baulk, but it seems that is the road ahead. Earlier in August, Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh appointed Deloitte to do a similar job. As one unimpressed RSS ideologue pointed out drily, one needs to be “self-reliant” in developing ideas first before attempting to make the economies “self-reliant”.
