Before she’d even set foot in the house, Kate Smith’s first glimpse of The Old Vicarage in Frensham convinced her that this was a garden with great possibilities. Part of the house dates back to the 14th century, and it’s been extended over the years into the elegant property it is today. High stone walls atmospherically enclose the front garden, while a glimpse beyond to the spire of the 13th-century St Mary the Virgin Church hints at the ancient history of this quiet Surrey village.
