Comb the Beach

There are usually lifeguards on duty at Gonubie beach, where there's a long boardwalk at the base of the dunes. On windy days, the river mouth offers a sheltered swimming spot. Another great beach is Glen Gariff — lovely dunes for youngsters to play around on, some rock pools for exploring and a wide beach for hopscotch, sandcastles and running free. And there's Chintsa, with its lagoon.

Feast and Explore

With a spacious outdoor playground, mountain biking and hiking trails, lovely gardens, a restaurant serving hearty meals, and a microbrewery, Emerald Vale is a brilliant family destination. The popular spot is on a farm just a few kilometres inland from Chintsa, and one of the activities offered here is a ride to the farm's lookout point in an old Bed-ford truck.
