Editor’s Note

“As the saying goes, ‘Christmas comes but once a year’. But as I need to last so long?’ In early October, I popped to the garden centre to buy some gardening essentials, but returned home empty-handed because most of the shop had been turned over to festive lights, singing reindeer and tinselly balls. I know that times are tough and businesses have to adapt, but festive fripperies seem to be appearing earlier each year, often to the detriment of other items that people actually need to buy. I’m no humbug merchant, and I love Christmas – but please, can we keep it in December?”
