MERCEDES-BENZ ‘W124’

The ‘W124’ is seen by many marque devotees as the last of the real Mercedes-Benz – a model that combines solid build quality with good taste and discretion, and which appeals just as strongly to the person who buys a car for life as to the badge snob. Late ones ended up plagued by the problems that would also befall its successor, but all W124s retain that same sense of worthiness that make an old Mercedes a car to be reckoned with.

It was in 1985 that the W124 replaced the ‘W123’ – a machine that, if anything, spoke even more strongly to the Mercedes faithful.
