Arrival
When I landed in Vancouver I felt a mixture of emotions – relief to be back where I felt I belonged, excitement for what the summer would hold and also a bit of worry, about potentially riding my first Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour event. My companion for the trip was fellow UK rider Marcel Hunt, who was competing in all of the tour’s North American slopestyle contests. Together, we were planning to travel to SilverStar, Big White and Whistler, as well as Coast Gravity Park for the Backwoods Jam. The Big White Freeride Days slopestyle was the only event on the list with a women’s category, so it was my dream to enter that.
