Will Little Larry live?
n Charles Dickens' Tiny Tim (shown below, in an engraving) was nearly Puny Pete. Dickens had a habit of playing around written about the same time as the tale of the miser Scrooge, the hero's surname could have been Chuzzletoe. For Bob Cratchit's disabled son, Dickens considered not only Puny Pete but other alliterative names such as Little Larry and Small Sam before settling, wisely, on Tiny Tim.
