N ancy Nicholson can’t remember a time when she wasn’t making things. She’s been an artist for years, set up her eponymous embroidery business about 10 years ago, and has never been without a fierce appetite for creativity. It’s something she credits her artist parents with. “Both had studios,” Nancy says, “so I would float between the two. If I was in my mum’s studio, she’d be writing her embroidery books and I’d be watching her sketching, being chucked fabric, bits of ribbon, and needles.
