Using 4.00mm needles cast on 123 (134, 145, 156, 167, 178, 189) sts using the thumb method.
Work lace border as follows:-
Row 1: WS - Purl.
Row 2: K2, *K1, slip this st back onto left needle, lift the next 8 sts on left needle over this St and off left needle, (yfwd) twice, K first st again, K2, rept from *to end.
Row 3: K1, *P2tog, drop extra yfwd of previous row then (K1, K1 tbl) twice into remaining yfwd, P1, rept from * to last st, K1. 68 (74, 80, 86, 92, 98, 104) sts.
Row 4: Knit, dec 1 st at each end of row. 66 (72, 78, 84, 90, 96, 102) sts.
Row 5, 6 and 7: Knit.
These 7 rows form lace border.**
Commence pattern
Row 1: RS - Knit.
Row 2 and every following alt row: Purl.
Row 3: Knit.
Row 5: K7 (10, 13, 16, 3, 6, 9), *(P4tog, K4tog, P4tog, K4tog) all into next 4 sts, K12, rept from * to last 11 (14, 17, 20, 7, 10, 13) sts, (P4tog, K4tog, P4tog, K4tog) all into next 4 sts, K7 (10, 13, 16, 3, 6, 9).
Row 7: Knit.
Row 9: Knit.
Row 11: Knit.
