The first gun I hunted deer with was an Iver Johnson single-shot 20 gauge. My uncle loaned it to me and my grandfather gave me two “pumpkin ball” shells. Those had a single round ball and being a kid I cut one open to see the ball. That left me with one shell to hunt.
