Why we should ban TikTok

TikTok, a Chinese social-media app “exposed to the influence of the Chinese Communist Party” (CCP), is a “major threat to US national security” and should be banned, say Marco Rubio and Mike Gallagher, both elected representatives for the Republican party. The app offers China the “unique ability” to monitor its one-billion-plus users, including two-thirds of all US teenagers, who use the app to read news, share content and communicate with friends.
