I discovered the potential of coloured pencils as an adult about 30 years ago while working in my local art shop. One day, into my hands came a tin of Derwent Artist Studio pencils (I did pay for them!). Up until that point I had always worked with wet media and pastels, considering them to be the tools of a real artist. I’ve always been passionate about drawing for its own sake, as the many shelves of sketchbooks in my studio will have exhausted me.
