WHILE stabling your horse full-time during winter is not ideal, in some instances there is no alternative, and owners and riders can be faced with several months without turnout for their horses. So how can you keep your horse happy, healthy, fit and content during winter when a stabled regime is the only option?
As the nights draw in and temperatures drop, changes to a horse's living arrangements are common, but any transition from living out to living in – and the impact that has on a horse's diet – needs to be done slowly.
