Somehow or other, golf’s (male) world-ranking system has grown from relatively inauspicious commercial beginnings to a position of importance that far outweighs any logic behind their existence.
In particular, being one of the top-50 players on the planet has become a passport to, well, just about anything and everything for professional golfers. It’s madness.
I say, get rid of them.
Think about it. They make no sense. There are just too many variables. We are supposed to compare and
