One of TV’s golden boys in the late 1970s, the television and radio veteran was tanned, suave and always impeccably dressed.

He was so loved and adored that fans referred to the host as ‘Papa Nick’.

So when a TV station secured the rights to broadcast the daily lottery in 1977, Nick was a shoo-in to announce the nightly draw.
