Normally when a side returns to the World Cup it is a cause for celebration and excitement. Missing a World Cup can have a devastating effect on the psyche of a football nation and its supporters. So that moment when a side officially makes it to the first kickoff is usually a time to be happy, to reflect, and perhaps to have a bit of nervousness.

For the United States Men’s National Team supporters though the only feeling that seems to exist at this point is anger. After losing to Japan 2-0 and drawing Saudi Arabia 0-0, happiness and excitement have been replaced with anger and rage with a tiny bit of nervousness growing with each passing day. With growing questions over the roster and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter’s tactics the sentiment within USMNT circles is not I believe that we can win but Can we win? In truth, the United States isn’t the only side that is struggling heading into the World Cup. Both England and Wales lost in the lead-up to Qatar while Iran struggled with Senegal.
