AUSSIE SOAP STARS WHO VANISHED!

Fiona Spence Prisoner

We all fell in love with Fiona for her gutsy portrayal of tough-as-nails warden Vera Bennett in the iconic soap Prisoner. She later reprised the role in the early 1990s for a British stage version as a result of an intense demand from overseas fans.

When it came time for Vera to hang up her baton, she opted for a sea change, playing spinster Celia Stewart in . While working on the show, she attended Monash University studying. Living a quiet life in the Blue Mountains, Fiona, 76, has now retired and is said to be planning to move back to Sydney to be closer to friends.
