As the dark nights draw in and there’s just nothing on the telly whatsoever then thoughts turn to a project for the shed. It is just possible there, where terms and conditions are laid out. Because we’re interested and nosy we went through the catalogue and picked out three bikes to highlight here. Montesa’s 200 Cota was well thought of in its day and the precursor of the successful Montesa Honda range. This one looks complete to us but is probably a non-runner for a full rebuild. In contrast the Kawasaki KX420 does run, though it would need ‘going over’ – a cryptic phrase if ever there was one – before it took to the track. Finally the TriBSA has been in regular use and looks right for the pre60 class. It’s built from a single cylinder frame – the oil pump kink can just be seen – with a T100 engine, though it looks like the head and barrel are cast iron.
