ON the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk are three signposts of unusual designs. In addition to bearing the usual directing arms, the posts are surmounted by a device in oak, carved, painted and gilded, depicting the legendary lore or history of the village. Flitcham claims the greatest consideration as the design is based on historic facts.
