Starting time
A competition round commences when you make a stroke to start your first hole, and many club competitions have a designated start time either set by the committee or that you sign up for.
But what happens if you start either early or late? Rule 5.3a has all the answers, although neither option is wise as the penalties can be quite severe. The default penalty is disqualification, but the Rules do provide a little leeway in certain circumstances via some exceptions. But
