Beat / How did you get into music production? Have you ever learned the craft professionally?

John / It was kind of a happy accident. I went to Blackwing Recording Studios with my friend‘s band to sit in while they were recording some demos. I had been helping them with their live sound, but wanted to know more about recording. After the demos were finished, I found out Eric Radcliffe was looking for an assistant to work with him, and that coincided with me losing my job. So I went to see Eric and said, you need someone to work here, and I need a job and would like to work in the studio. He said, “OK, start now” and I was there for ten years.
