“I never had an interest in cars, to be honest,” says JP van der Spuy. “Growing up, my “Inever dad would tell us cars are liabilities but properties are assets, and people who accumulate liabilities end up in debt, while those who accumulate assets wind up rich.”
We were having this conversation on the balcony of Van der Spuy’s home, against the backdrop of Cape Town’s Atlantic seaboard.
