IF there was one combination you would have been a fool to overlook upon scrolling through the Pau entries list, it would have been Jonelle Price and Grappa Nera.
Jonelle is the current world number two in the FEI rankings, beaten to the top spot only by her husband Tim, and so Team Price are clearly a yard on form. Jonelle was aboard Grappa Nera, or “Grape” as she is known at home, a fiery little 11-year-old mare bursting with feistiness and talent. These proved the perfect ingredients for this team to add yet another five-star win to their roll of honour, off the back of Tints five-star victory in Maryland just a couple of weeks ago.
And win it Jonelle did. The pair started the week with a 30.1 dressage, which left them in 13th. But Grape's record in this phase is patchy; she scored 51.4 in an intermediate in July this
