I have a bit of a love/hate thing with screens. I’d rather have an unencumbered naked bike, but sometimes for long journeys (or because it looks good) I’ve fitted a screen. Even a flyscreen can reduce wind pressure on the body, and a full-sized touring screen is pretty much essential for comfortable long distance touring. The considerable downside is that in my experience screens (including fairings) are always at the wrong height. They conspire to funnel or deflect air in exactly the wrong place, causing an orchestra of unwanted roars, shrieks, whistles and general rowdy aural buffeting.
