‘Today’s Princesses and Queens are modern. They’re up to date’

The coastal town of Knokke in northern Belgium is famous for its elegance. Since the 19th century, its pristine sands and stunning seascapes have made it a favourite holiday spot for prominent Belgian families – including that of Baron Edouard Vermeulen, couturier to Belgium’s Queen.

Through his fashion house Natan, Edouard Vermeulen designs for the contemporary and elegant woman. Among his clients are Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. Naturally, his Brussels base is a hive of activity. So here, an hour and a half away from the capital, he decided to re-create the peace of his grandparents’ home in Knokke, where he spent happy childhood days.
