Shinro Ohtake

Multidisciplinary artist Shinro Ohtake’s first major retrospective in 16 years will retrace his nearly half-centurylong career with around 500 works. Presented under seven themes, such as “Time,” “Memory,” and “Sound,” the exhibition will include early paintings series (1988–), which explores how technology has changed painting by combining the medium with Polaroid film transfer, as well as the installation (2012), an interactive cottage whose core is a giant scrapbook surrounded by audio-visual elements that respond to visitors’ movements.
