AGE RELATED OPINION

With reference to your comments in Classic Jaguar (Backchat, P98 Oct/ Nov) about age demographics. Classic and recent range car appreciation is enjoyed largely by those loyal to a brand that can afford to buy and maintain them and those who aspire to them but can’t. The younger age group are probably attracted to the F-Type but not able to afford one, the rest of the jaguar range isn’t yet of particular interest to them and those of the connectivity and touch screen generation are a way off affording such a car. They need nurturing into Jaguar as a brand.

Probably most club members have their cars for nostalgic reasons, but nostalgia comes with age and with age comes affordability and more disposable income.

For those of an age without nostalgia then what do clubs offer them? Personally, when I look at club magazines, especially area news, the pictures are (sorry to say and please excuse
