Remembering HEROISM

One of the greatest battles of World War Two was to save Britain, and our ally Russia, from starvation – a struggle that lasted the length of the war. Bombardment on the convoys of merchant ships from U-boats, warships and fighter planes was relentless. But this was matched by the determination of the seamen bringing supplies from America, the Commonwealth and the Empire, along with the heroism of the soldiers and sailors, who risked their lives to escort the cargo on minesweepers and destroyers.
