Being patient was not what Hana did best.
“I can’t wait for it to snow!” she said as soon as the leaves turned red in fall.
“Aren’t we there yet?” she asked whenever her family started a car trip.
“Hurry, hurry, hurry!” she shouted to the friends coming to her birthday party.
So when her grandmother told her she could have one of Blackie’s kittens, Hana went wild.
“How long do I have to wait?” she begged.
“Four weeks,” said her mother. “Then they’ll be ready to leave their mama.”
It sounded like forever to Hana.
“How will I know when four weeks is?”
