Hi! Maybe you’ve heard of us – we’re those things on the sides of your head. We’re useful for tucking your hair behind, holding your glasses up, and showing off cute dangly jewellery. But – excuse the dad joke – we go far deeper than that.

That part you see when you look in the mirror is our receiving dish. It collects and funnels sound waves into our ear canals. You might think other animals have better pinnae (a very prim name for a wild piece of anatomy).
