Jill’s favourite themes are the flowers and birds of Western Australia.
SIMON AND GARFUNKEL SANG: “Sail on silver girl, sail on by ... All your dreams are on their way …” One of Jill Parnell’s dreams in the 1980s was to find a medium to present her miniature paintings on porcelain. This, she discovered, was combining silver and enamelling.
In enamelling, Jill started to develop an interest in jewellery making and this interest has turned into a lifelong love of cloisonné enamel which she finds challenging and expressive. Looking at Jill’s wonderful creations she sets in Sterling silver, I think she has become ‘a silver girl’!
