The psychology of success

Years before you see your favourite singer on a stage, a long journey begins. The magic you hear isn’t fortuitous. Like luthiers, singers craft their instruments for years before emerging onto the stage. It’s an unavoidably long journey that requires skillful allies. During my singing career I have had the immense privilege of working with several incomparable voice teachers, from Thérèse Sevadjian and Dr. Darryl Edwards in Canada, to Marlena Malas, Robert C. White and Renata Scotto in New York. Their deep understanding of the voice and of the singer’s body and psyche were immense gifts and models that I carry with me to this day.
