THE 1940 Ford coupe, especially the deluxe model, would have to be one of the most glamorous prewar Fords ever produced. But, unfortunately, they were never commercially available here in New Zealand, except for the odd private import in more recent years. Australia was luckier as they produced their locally made Fordor sedans, convertibles and a handful of coupe utes, but still no coupes.
