INEVITABLY THERE has been a rush of books celebrating the life and reign of our late Queen and two of the best are the richly illustrated Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022, by Brian Hoey (Pitkin, £9.99) and Queen Elizabeth II, by David Souden
(BBC, £22), which features many never seen before black and white colour photographs, drawn largely from the BBC archives. And, by Matthew Engel (Atlantic, £25), is the first of two books reflecting the transformation of life during the 70 years of the Queen’s remarkable reign. This first volume looks at the years from 1952 to 1979.
