Stroll back in time in Shrewsbury

THERE WAS fevered activity in the historic narrow streets leading down into the town - huge lights were being positioned, modern signs and fittings covered up and cinder and sand spread on the roads.

The TV team was taking over this ancient part of Shrewsbury.

It was nothing new for the locals as, with hundreds of listed buildings, the town is a mecca for location-hunting directors.

For us, walking up the steep Swan Hill from the market hall, it was interesting to speculate what was going on. There looked to be a carriage waiting at the top but no horses yet.

The film crew were keeping quiet but one of the council officials keeping cars away gave us the low
