When to go

We were touring the Rhine in early May, when it was wetter and cooler than we'd expected, and on the return leg, we stayed in Austria and Germany, on the Danube, in June, when it was very hot. The weather varies from year to year, so it's pretty much pot luck. Early May in Germany was out of season, but it was busier in June.
