Over centuries our human race has come up with all sorts of ways to move from one place to another: from walking to using animals, from pedal power to motor vehicles, from sea travel to flying. Researching different modes of transport is not only relevant to nonfiction writers focusing on historical railways or the latest electric cars, but fictional stories may also require transport-related research. Just think how important the topic of travelling and transport were for Jules Verne when he wrote, for example, Around the World in.
