This was a summer of few genuine surprises, which meant that the games that make us sit bolt upright and lean into our monitors seemed all the more exhilarating. Such was the case with Roll7’s future bloodsport, an instantly striking combination of Rollerball, and – with – set in an alternate universe where rejected empathy and introspection and instead embraced ultraviolence. For around 80 seconds or so (other developers, take note: your game trailers don’t need to be several minutes long), we were absolutely rapt.
