Sink into a good book in this hand-drawn puzzle adventure
A playful, Amanita-like adventure game being developed by “two explores the idea of books being portals to new places. Taking place in a galactic library that sits at a crossroads between worlds, it casts you as Little Bit, who can metamorphose into other forms to solve surreal conundrums. These tomes drag them into strange new realms, all hand-drawn and brought to life through dynamic animation: from gravity shifts to telekinetic powers, each presents fresh challenges. “Stylistically, this is a confrontation between white and dark, and many shades of grey in between,” artist tells us; in addition to Miyazaki and Moebius, they’re inspired by the work of Tomorrow Corporation’s Kyle Gabler and the creators of Adventure Time. Their motivation to make is simple: “We just want to make a game that you want to play, and that is also fun for us to play. And it should tell a story that leaves no one [feeling] indifferent.” Pagurus is aiming to release the game on PC this year.
