“If the battery goes flat overnight it can be caused by screenwash being drawn up the wiring and into the Body Control Module (BCM) behind the glovebox,” exclaims Mark Shipman at AES York Ltd as he shows me some green-coloured connectors inside a BCM and some equally green contacts inside an electrical plug. This is only one of many potential problems that can arise. Use the wrong engine oil for instance and the timing belt can rapidly deteriorate.
