The #Earper effect

The first ever episode of Wynonna Earp aired in April 2016. Following the story of – you guessed it – Wynonna Earp, who on her 27th birthday inherits her great-great grandfather Wyatt Earp’s power to return revenants back to hell. Appeasing her family by returning the reincarnated outlaws that Wyatt specifically had killed, Wynonna takes on a new responsibility. But it’s her sister Waverley Earp, played by Dominique Provost-Chalkley, and her relationship with Nicole Haught, played by Kat Barrell, that largely gathered traction in the public mind.

Self-proclaimed #Earpers congregated to ship #WayHaught, culminating in the summer wedding that took place in the season four finale. Sadly, the show was cancelled in February 2021, but Wynonna Earp’s legacy has been significant.
