I always buy jewellery with the intention of wearing it; the fact that it has become a collection has been quite unintentional. Jewellery is something everyone has a connection to, no matter the style or price tag, and that's what I find the most interesting.
I grew up with two grandmothers who lovedI'd ask them to repeat the stories behind their rings, brooches and necklaces. They both had a huge influence on my decision to pursue a career as a jewellery specialist, after a degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at university and now a Design History PhD.
