E IS FOR EMBATTLED

In the previous issue of Classic Jaguar, it would appear our otherwise enlightened editor suffered an aberration of judgement in his appraisal of my E-type, by declaring in his introduction to the Running Report that it was “definitely not a project” (I thought Peter understood the concept of sarcasm Ed.) Considering the following misadventures experienced over recent weeks, you may be inclined to question that assertion.

Naturally, looking at the restored perfection of the car, along with a price tag that has more digits in front of the decimal point than a calculator, anyone would assume my E-type to be well-sorted. However, E-types are priced according to perceived desirability and not reliability.
