To save or not to save – that is the question! No! You hardly see an XJ40 these days, and over the past few weeks of attending some very big shows, I still see line after line of E-Types, I always wonder, “Where are the 40’s”? To save or not to save was a question I was presented with just before COVID regarding FVC, and the very sensible advice was that the car had reached the end, put it out of its misery - and that costs will be well beyond what it will ever be worth to sell.To do the job correctly, it’s engine and all its intestines out, dashboard and interior out and you do the job right. That’s not cheap, and when you have a car that you paid very little for, is it any wonder that people balk at paying thousands to fix something you can’t see? That’s what I am trying to change – as too many people said no, and what are we left with?
